Cisco CCNA, CCNP R/S, Voice & Security Certifications Provide Job Security!

Okay, it’s not exactly a reach to guess that you’re feeling pretty uncertain about the presently ubiquitous economic woes and worries facing the U.S./Europe and our world in general right now. In fact, it’s likely that those feelings of uncertainty often bleed into your personal life and haunt your thoughts concerning your own future; maybe your family’s as well.

After all, if you have even a modicum of common sense, you know everything isn’t going to blossom into roses tomorrow morning, or even anytime soon! No, it’s going to be a long winter, so we’re much more likely to find ourselves waiting a stretch for this legion of financial gremlins to leave the garden!

Oh sure, you may just love your job today, and the company you work for may be feeling all that for you too— well, at least for now. But even if this is lucky you, I’m guessing that some small, inner voice is tugging at your consciousness with at least a few valid doubts regarding your future. Maybe those doubts have even morphed into outright fears, totally stressing you out on a regular basis. You wouldn’t be alone with that because right now, fear rules. Just check out the VIX! Be honest now… You fall somewhere on a continuum between the occasional worry to losing some serious sleep every night!

So what do we do, become addicted to prescription sleep aids? Where to invest… In survival training, relevant supplies and a remote compound? Or is it treasuries, gold, cash, bargain basement equities, or in this or that fund with our fingers crossed? Well, since it’s unlikely the world will apocalyptically gasp its last on 12/21/2012 and provide us with a hall pass out of this mess, and since I’m not a financial adviser or fund manager, I can’t really steer you there.

But, if you happen to be in I.T. or want to get into the field, I can definitely point the way and help you navigate that route for sure!

And I can say, “for sure”, because each and every day I get hordes of emails, social media posts and phone messages asking me for Cisco Certified VoIP people, or if I can provide IPv6 migration strategies for their corporation. (See, there are jobs out there— good ones too!) The only problem with this is, I just can’t find very many Voice certified people or IPv6 engineers. Add to that the coming mass exodus to the Cloud as the inevitable future of computing services, and it should be pretty clear that you should be fully capable of working within a large, enterprise environment.

VoIP and IPv6 are exciting, integral technologies for our foreseeable future, so it’s critical to become well versed in them. It really comes down to this being either your long or short-term goal, depending on your current certification level.

I completely agree that there’s a buffet of skill sets crucial to sustainable businesses like CCNP Security, but being proficient in VoIP, Cloud computing and IPv6 technical administration along with that forms a solid core for the I.T. professional’s job security in the future! Those already going in this direction, and those who hop on the path now to master these key technologies will not simply ensure they stay employed, they will be poised for serious success— even in a down and out economy. Be one of them.

Sure, at the trail head is always the essential Cisco CCNA, but from there you’ll want to make your move straight into the CCNP R/S for a bulletproof foundation in routing and switching for enterprise networks. After you’ve made it to that point, make a beeline for CCNP Voice, adding in CCNP Security for the skill set necessary to admin large-scale networks.

Once you have that leg of your journey behind you, continue to attain your mastery objective by attending the CCIE R/S, Security and voice classes. These are the new I.T. Gold Standards that will provide you with the most sought after, specialized, high-end edge. They will equip you to compete in the networking world of the not so distant future.

In the meantime, be sure to check out GlobalNet Training & Consulting, inc. for some really sweet training specials, including our CCNA/CCNP Voice classes coming very soon! As always, this is the only place where you can find the time-tested best: Todd Lammle’s Authorized Cisco training.

Cheers!
